Dua lipa is a Brit musician and singer born on August 22, 1995 in London. The singer-songwriter signed to Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model. She then launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album peaked at number 3 on the U.K. Albums Chart and made eight singles which included Be the One I.D.G.A.F and New Rules, the U.K. number-one single New Rules which reached number Six in United States. Lipa was honored with The Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum in many countries. Dua Lipa, is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on August 22, 1995. Through her maternal grandmother, Dua Lipa is Bosnian origin. There is also a trace of Lipa's ancestral ancestors back through Peja in Kosovo. Two of Lipa's grandfathers are historians. She has a brother Gjin Lipa and a sibling Rina. Lipa was musically influenced by her father, who was the guitarist and lead singer of the Kosovan rock group Oda. His father would play music at home, including songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of was just five years old. In the teen years, she began singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If I'm Not You You from Alicia Keys on YouTube. In the year 2014 Lipa signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. In August 2015 her first single New Love came out.
